Shadow is an app for English shadowing on iPhone and Android: you listen to a native speaker and repeat what they say in real time, copying their rhythm, stress and intonation. It takes real speech — your own files, a recording, or a YouTube video — splits it into phrases, repeats each phrase with a pause for you to speak into, and records your take beside the original so you can hear the difference. It is used to improve English pronunciation, reduce an accent, build spoken fluency and move words from passive recognition into active use.
Shadow is free to download and practise with daily; a Premium subscription removes the daily practice limit. Available on the App Store and Google Play.
